Requirements
The patient must be home bound. The patient is considered home bound when they have a condition that restricts their ability to leave their home with minimum assistance.
Patients who live in an assisted living facility are eligible as long as the Medicare services are not a part of the same services that are being provided directly by the facility itself.
Medicare home health services must be ordered by Physician Orders via a prescription.
Home Health Aides are only allowed Medicare when another specific service is ordered, such as skilled nursing, physical therapy, or psychiatric nursing.
